![]() Previously, if you were an Active subscriber in the Classic/Premium tier, you had a 20% discount in the Humble Store. Unless the mark was my face, in which case it slapped. ![]() The sweeteners that Humble are adding to keep people subscribed… don’t quite it hit the mark. Ironically, due to the changes, I was actually feeling good about finally canceling the subscription altogether instead of constantly pausing. Not everyone bothers though, and that is why companies pull this shit. I forgot to pause it like six times overall, but requested and received refunds each time. I maintained my Classic subscription this whole time by “Pausing” it each month, in the hopes I would find something worthwhile next time. Seriously, looking at my Humble account, the last bundle I actually purchased was in April 2020. But unfortunately for them, that coincided with both a dearth of worthwhile bundle offerings and blistering competition from Game Pass and Epic Store (to an extent). The latest move was to basically do away with all the previous nonsense of four tiers and go back to “pay $12 for X games.” I mean, it was clever of them to crank up the FOMO in canceling your Classic subscription, knowing it would cost you 60% more a month if you came crawling back. You would be forgiven for not following the changes to the Humble Choice subscription, as it has gone through a number of iterations over the years. That said, a few of these games – like Starbound, for instance – are better off in a more permanent library where you can easily mod them. While pure value isn’t the purpose of the bundles, I do think it’s worth pointing out that this will be much more heavily weighted on the donation side of things. For example, Back 4 Blood Game Pass is one of the “headliners” but I have no interest in Left 4 Dead-esque games these days.Īs you can see though, a large number of these games are currently available via Game Pass. The above aren’t all the games, just the ones I would have been interested in. ![]() Since I was browsing through the list anyway, here are what stands out: I feel that while Telltale games generally did a "fuzzying" (small little offshoots, that lead nowhere) instead of branching, at least the stories are interesting when treated what they are: a movie, where you can choose the mood of the room, but the story is already written.Humble Bundle has a new mega bundle for $40 with all of the proceeds going to Ukraine relief. The game stretches over about 2 decades, there are quite proper gameplay segments (every now and them) - so it was jarring, how little options I had in terms of choices, and had even fewer consequences that span past the current chapter. I recently played Quantic Dream's Beyond: Two Souls. So it's a choose your own flavour styled story that has no real reason to be replayed, but with still more agency about what happens than in a kinetic novel. The tone van be really different based on your choices, but the story doesn't really change. The general gist seems to be that there is only one (or two vastly different) endings and a lot of the decisions don't make a huge impact on branching, this does not include bad endings. Is there a decision-based story game that is 30+ hours long? (Not counting replaying to get all choices, even if they are meaningless) The Definitive Edition is said to be 50+ hours, but it's technically 5 games. Not everyone wants to play 30-50 hours on a single decision-based story game If you own it, the row will be highlighted with a green color. This script enhances the charts by showing you which games you already own from the ones in it. Wondering what games you already own from this bundle? There's a UserScript for that! It's called the RaChart™ Enhancer! If you prefer, you can disable referral links from your settings panel.
